Time has always been with us.
Throughout the centuries, the way in which it was perceived and measured gradually changed. The first clocks were created, i.e. solar, which were usually placed in public places. Over the years, small settlements were expanding to create ever larger and more beautiful cities, which were decorated with massive tower clocks located at the defensive fortifications, at the gate gates or on the main squares where there was a high town hall tower or church tower. Tower clocks usually have one or more dials that are placed on four sides. In some examples of such clocks, sound signals such as chimes or bells or visual ones, eg time balls, serve to indicate the passage of time.
Nowadays clock towers no longer play such an important role as in the past, then they only served to indicate the hour, and now not only measure out time, but also delight with their beauty and elaborate performance, they are real miracles and architectural treasures.
