Hi there my Steemit friends and followers!
Mushroom picking is considered one of the national hobbies here in the Czech Republic and I am a huge fan of this activity too. I love wandering through the forest in any season of the year but the possibility to pick some nice mushrooms (that you can make yourself a fantastic dinner from) makes these forest roams even more exciting and enjoyable.
The mushroom season usually starts in early summer here in Central Europe but because of the heat waves and extreme drought that we have been struggling with for months, it was not until now that you can finally find some mushrooms in the woods.
Here is a little photo selection of what I recently found in the Radun Forest just outside of my hometown. Most of the mushrooms were the Xerocomellus Chrysenteron species (colloquially known as red cracking bolete) plus some other boletus species.
I stewed them with finely sliced onion and today, I am going to make a delicious, super creamy mushroom sauce from it :)
This is also my entry for today´s #macrophotography contest hosted by .
