Many people consider purslane to be a weed when they see it growing in the yard. Most don't know that it is actually a highly nutritious edible plant. It has a slightly salty taste to it. It a very hardy and drought tolerant plant and can often be found growing out of cracks in concrete. Next time you see it in the yard give it a try. This is a red stemmed variety. You will also see it with a green stem.
