The 2012 Colorado Wildfires burned 246,445 acres. We hoped these burned woodlands would be good for morel mushrooms. Four men hunted for mushrooms for hours yielding nothing but good pictures and hiking. Then this baby English Bulldog named Seymour Butts did what we could not. He found a tiny morel mushroom.
Seymour was nice enough to share the morel instead of eating it himself. It would have been nice to find more since morels are delicious, but it was good to see that we had chosen a good location.
This was my first time in any of the burned woodlands. It was really cool. You can see very far since there are no leaves. It was neat to see what's left and exciting to imagine what the future will bring.
I enjoyed this hike very much and I hope you enjoyed the pictures. Thanks for reading!
