Located in one of the neuralgic points of the city Imperio is one of the oldest pizzerias in the city. It was founded in 1945 by the Spaniard Jose Carames and is located on Corrientes Avenue and Federico Lacroze. It is known for its pizza to the mold, high and well loaded.
This was the pizza that one of our great values of the Argentine TV Carlos Salim Balaa or as we know him, Carlitos Balaa who for so many years saw the growth of this pizzeria where he ate many times and spent a lot of time there. He was honored and a sculpture was made in his enclosure and even had a phrase on some of its walls.
This is a pizzeria where if its walls could talk they could tell millions of stories and anecdotes, not only because of the years they have been there but also because it receives an inexplicable amount of people day and night. Here you can find street vendors who get off a bus line and stop to eat a slice with mozcato and then continue, those who get off the train that brings them from San Miguel, people going to the cemetery, lawyers, musicians and any personality you can think of just for being in a point of the city where everything happens.
But beware, not only their pizzas are delicious in the mornings besides taking pizzas to eat many go to eat their well-known butter croissants to dip in the coffee with milk that accompanies it 🤤A delight.
This pizzeria has been frequented by many famous personalities such as Olmedo, Porcel, Cortazar, and many others, and they even have songs where they mention them in their songs.
Although it has more tables to eat seated a very used format by the beginners is to eat the pizza to the step and follow. That is why many eat at high tables standing up.
