I "jumped ship"about ten years ago. I'd already been wanting to escape the u.s. for a good 12 years, mas o menos at that point..I can't say that I was in some kind of "good position" to do it. I just felt intuitively that I had already been waiting for too long. So I booked. I'm glad I did.
