THE MOON
As the sun does set, the moon does rise.
Lighting up the dark night skies.
The beautiful colours of a twilight sky,
Kisses the earth and the day goodbye.
The landscape silhouettes does throw,
But the moon lets it’s bright light show.
Many phases it goes through,
From full, to half, to new.
From behind a cloud the moon peeks,
Lighting our way, as though it calmly speaks.
Upon our Earth it has a great pull,
Affecting our tides and making them full.
At times an eclipse of the moon may occur,
Unusual colours it does stir.
Making the moon look orange or red,
It’s glory shows without need to be said.
To the moon’s beauty we are not immune,
Some people seek to go to the moon,
To see, up close, details of a crater,
We can’t travel yet but maybe later.
Besides from Earth, the moon does look greater.
A beautiful gift from our creator.
At the end of each and every day,
The moon does rise, unique in it’s way.
To fill our sky with comfort and hope,
If we like, enjoy with a telescope.
