WINTER WONDERS
As Winter peaks and chills abound
Great wonders all around are found
The purest blanket spread on the ground
Earth’s beauty yet again is crowned.
A snowflake falls – each one unique
Of nature’s glory it does speak.
The winter landscape can be quite bare
But even then a tree is fair
An elegant silhouette displayed
A perfect picture always made.
The coldest time of the year
Can still be filled with much cheer.
Let’s have a look what we can do
Some Winter wonders just for you.
A frozen lake where we can skate
Snow angels in the snow create.
Climb up the hill – toboggan down
Let’s play all day until sundown.
Did you just throw that first snowball?
Let’s dress this snowman for nightfall.
A scarf and gloves should keep him warm
A new top hat will him transform.
Some animals will hibernate
But some you see are really great.
They love a climate that is cold
But don’t approach I have been told.
Outdoors are great but it must be short
Some activities we must abort
Sometimes the cold is just too much
We start to lose our sense of touch.
We seek out heat – a fireplace
We sit to feel it’s warm embrace.
To sip on cocoa, coffee or tea
Into the night we chat with glee.
These memories we will always keep
As Spring upon us now does creep.
