Hello,
I apologize to you for my lateness, but life can sometimes play tricks.
Poetry is not only food for the soul of the poets, it is a feast for all the hearts that read it. Another feast for us, how wonderful it was to spend time with you.
I am back and I have read your poems with great joy
Thank you.
I would like to say thank you to all of you who were participating in the Challenge and also those who were interested in poemchallenge. I am delighted with your interest in poetry that shows how beautiful hearts and souls are among us. :)
The words that spoke to my heart and stirred my emotions.
A true love
Like the tail of smoke that the jet leaves
In the twilight under the lonely star
And it dissolves in the dust of heaven
I was for you and you for my heart
I got lost in you
I was wrapped in your skein
I can not know how to get out of your arm
This unknown substance of misfortune
It takes me to remember that smile of a maiden
The open door of the time to come
And in your arms I loved like a child
Ever since I met you, you have made me a cupid
Since then, time has passed
And even tango reserved in my heart this immense love
The clear sunrises we used to see each other in the eyes
And in our eyes only the caresses of love were reflected
I love you forever because the moment I love you
It is part of the rope of eternity
And there we hang still
The heat of your sex as a wild avalanche
Your lips in mine at midnight
And this poet in love naked by your side
You can never find the door
If not in the tangle of my arms
Woman as beautiful as spring
I hope you never forget this man
Who knew what love is
And he traveled in Wonderland next to you

Eddie
this morning
you graced my ears with the finest of music
sounds that filled the place I knew only music could touch
I lifted you wrapped and limp from my bed
and purred with you
then
my tears glistening in your still black fur
I waited for your rest box
as you grew cold in my arms
first the pads on your paws
then your bone thin legs
now
I hold you more tightly just to keep you warm
for a tiny bit longer
listening
while I go to that place
I thought only music could take me
and
with your last smidgeon of warmth cradled in my arms
I sway to the beat

A Brook
A brook flows through the land I share.
I've spent my eighty years with it there.
I know its every whim and mood.
It's brought me peace, wonder...even food.
In spring it has been a wild thing
roaring and swelling, often jumping.
Threatening independence to its banks,
yet always returning with my thanks.
In summer it is kind and ever gentle,
sliding and slipping and sentimental,
Bringing sweet life to all of my crops.
When dry, it runs low, but never stops.
As the winter snows begin to fly
Something quite odd will catch my eye,
Eddies grow tired and pools pacific stand,
White edges encroach-- invaders from the land.
For months it is there, still, but changed,
In its winter blankets it seems rearranged.
Now we, it's visitors, do the slipping and sliding,
As the secrets beneath are kept still and hiding.
The hills above from whence it flows,
Likewise grow still in the winter's throes,
Sentintenls guarding their wayward daughter,
With their frozen freshets of soon-emerged water.
When the snows start to soften and the days to lengthen
I crouch best I can to greet my old friend.
They will bury me soon 'long the banks of this brook,
And my grandsons will come, on occasion, and look.
I hope they will cherish this land and these hills,
Creating their own memories of nature's soft thrills,
And race these banks as once did I,
A lifetime ago, so very nearby.
