I was wrong too, but for a different reason. I was wrong because having watched Trump for 30 years, I knew he had close ties to the Clintons. I assumed that he was a stalking horse, that he only ran to hand the election to Clinton. I may still be right, and he may find himself with a job he didn't really want, but I think I was wrong.
But that's almost certainly not why you were wrong. If you are like most folks, you were wrong because the press lied to you.
You probably knew how wrong polls can be, but when all the polls said the same thing, you started to believe them. But they oversampled, applying a much heavier weight to democrat voters. In other words, they asked 40 democrats who they were voting for, then asked 30 republicans who they were voting for, and told you that Clinton had it, 4 to 3. When the real election happened, you were shocked and frightened.
You were shocked because they lied to you about the progress of the election, you were afraid because they lied to you about Trump. I am against Trump because he profits from the misery of alcohol and gambling addicts - but he is not a racist or a nazi. They told you that he was the devil, but remember, they lie. On purpose. Without guilt. Think about the DNC chair people who worked way too closely with the press. They still arrogantly tell you that those people did nothing wrong.
For the record, he is well known as a bridge builder in racial activism circles. He has been given awards. The best awards. Big awards. See how the press even made his speech patterns into a joke? He is also a social liberal, for women's rights, LGBT rights, immigrant rights. What? You ask about the Wall? The mostly symbolic wall that many other countries have?
(BTW, try to move to Canada - you have to have money in the bank, a sponsor, all your paperwork filled out, the same sort of things Trump wants for us. So sure, move to Canada to avoid those things)
So that's why you are upset, because they lied to you, you believed the lie, and reality kicked you in the butt. They lied about the polls, they lied about his character, and right now they are lying to you about the results of the election. You probably think angry white men voted Trump in, but really, it was black women who could not bring themselves to vote for Clinton that made the most of the difference in the swing states she lost.
We both might need to re-evaluate our assumptions.
