Like everything else, they should be consumed in moderation to maintain their health benefits. In the recipe I’m sharing, green plantains are the star ingredient. I made some delicious green plantain bombs stuffed with ground beef—they’re perfect to serve with a tasty sauce and surprise your family or guests. You can vary the filling, for example, with shredded or crumbled chicken, ground beef, cheese, ham, tuna, or pork rinds—prepared to your liking. It’s an easy and tasty recipe, and it’s also a different way to enjoy green plantains. INGREDIENTES/ INGREDIENTS
- 300 gr de carne molida.
- 2 tomates.
- 4 dientes de ajos.
- 1/2 cebolla.
- 1/4 pimentón.
- Maizena ( Fécula de Maíz ).
- 2 plátanos verdes.
- Aceite.
- Adobo.
- Sal.
- 300 g ground beef.
- 2 tomatoes.
- 4 cloves of garlic.
- 1/2 onion.
- 1/4 bell pepper.
- Cornstarch.
- 2 green plantains.
- Oil.
- Seasoning.
- Salt.
PREPARACIÓN/ PREPARATION
- Lo primero en preparar es la carne molida, la cual vamos a picar en cuadros pequeños, la cebolla, el ají dulce, el pimentón, cilantro y machacar los ajos.
- The first thing to prepare is the ground beef, which we’ll cut into small cubes, along with the onion, bell pepper, paprika, and cilantro. Then, we’ll crush the garlic.
- Agregar aceite en el sartén, sofreír la cebolla y el ajo hasta que se vean transparentes, siempre moviendo para que no se quemen.
- Add oil to the pan, sauté the onion and garlic until they become translucent, stirring constantly so they don't burn.
- Ir agregando el ají dulce, el pimentón, el cilantro y los tomates rallados, y sofreír por unos minutos.
- Add the bell pepper, paprika, cilantro, and grated tomatoes, and sauté for a few minutes.
- Luego, agregar la carne molida previamente salpimentada. Dejar cocinar unos minutos, rectificar la sal, bajar del fuego y reservar.
- Next, add the ground beef, which has been seasoned with salt and pepper. Let it cook for a few minutes, adjust the salt to taste, remove from heat, and set aside.
- Ahora quitar la cáscara al plátano verde y rallar por el lado grueso.
- Now peel the green banana and grate it using the coarse side of the grater.
- Colocar un plástico y untar un poquito de aceite, colocar una capa fina del plátano rallado,luego esparcir la fécula de maíz o maicena, seguir colocando el relleno en este caso la carne molida. Con el mismo plástico como lo indiqué en la fotografía, hacer una bola.
- Place a sheet of plastic wrap on the surface and brush it with a little oil. Spread a thin layer of grated banana, then sprinkle cornstarch over it. Continue by adding the filling—in this case, ground beef. Using the plastic wrap as shown in the photo, shape it into a ball.
- Freír en el aceite caliente, dar vuelta y vuelta hasta dorar.
- Fry in hot oil, turning frequently until golden brown.
