A slow start on a blue sky day. Walked up to shops to get an eye fillet for our BBQ lunch today
Blue sky photo of St Johns Church on the way back from shops. Chose not to go onto the Op Shop. My wife told me it had been picked over well before 9am
My role today - proteins - start with the prawns - plan is to butterfly them. Step 1. Heads off. Step 2. Cut down the length to expose the bowel tract. Remove that. Step 3. Lay the prawns flat and cut along the length of the cut with a serrated knife. Step 4. Flatten down - place open side down on a plate. Squeeze flat with another plate
Made two sauces - olive oil and peri-peri and butter with chopped garlic and lemon juice
Ready to go - 5 minutes shell side down - turn over for 1 minute to get some charring
The main course - chicken thigh fillets marinated overnight in Greek yoghurt - tikka masala paste and beef eye fillet seasoned with salt and pepper and mustard with garlic slices inserted
Turned into a good spread - sausage from my home country
Wine was interesting - the Petite Syrah name is a bit misleading. The grape is not Shiraz - it is Durif.
