2 matches will not be played today, KV Mechelen announced that they won't show up since they have many covid cases while just falling short of the rules being able to postpone their match which they see as unfair. The match between Waregem vs Oostende did get postponed due to covid cases, so only 2 matches on Saturday...
Seraing vs Union
Union has been the revelation of the season so far and they are deserved in 1st place with a 7-point lead on Club Brugge. There is no real reason why they would not be able to continue a good form aside from the team getting hit by injuries or covid cases since they have an A-Squad that pretty much plays every match and replacements that just don't have the same quality. They are positive in their stats across the board especially in away games where they are the best team against the Asian handicap going 7.5W-1L. Seraing on the other hand is pretty much down across the line, especially in their away matches. Both teams don't seem to suffer from missings and Union is the clear -1.5 away favorite and I don't see any value on them. Seraing however is 7W-3L at home in the corners while Union only won 3 away corner matchups. If Union creates a couple corners early and take the lead, I might have a go at the Seraing corners handicap live. for now,
No Pre-Game Bets
Club Brugge vs Sint-Truiden
Club Brugge so far has been a team that cost me quite some units as their play simply hasn't lived up to their potential even at lines that were felt adjusted to it. They now have a new coach after Clement left for Monaco and only Lang is suspended. They are 7 points behind on Union (and maybe 10 after the first match today) and need to start being more reliable in taking the wins. Stvv broke their losing streak just before the winter break with a win against Eupen. They also attracted Shinji Kagawa as a new player who doesn't look to be on the team just yet. Overall they have the potential to play really defensive coming out on the counters which likely will he what the match looks like today. Their last 2 away games also were played against good teams and resulted in a 2-1 loss against Gent who were without Vadis playing a poor match, Against Anderlecht they lost 2-0 and they managed to keep the 0-0 at HT playing with many players in defense, Anderlecht after taking the lead did get chance after chance as Stvv made offensive subs. So Expect Stvv to make life hard for Club Brugge and their defense to open up like crazy late in the match in case they get behind. They surprisingly did well on corners going 66 & 5-6 in those matches. It remains Club Brugge at home (despite no fans) who have more quality in their squad and need the points so motivation should be high enough and I'm willing to once again risk losing some money on them. A 0.3 Unit bet on
Club Brugge -1 @ 1.991 is something I could not resist and I might take more in-game.
