A 2021 Challenge – Getting to Know One Another

I've accepted Hive account@sagesigma's invite to take up the '2021 Challenge - Getting to Know One Another', initiated by Hive account@emuse.

The challenge is to answer these 3 questions:

Firstly, What have you done in November?

Years ago, I did a basic British Sign Language (BSL) Course. Sadly, I can only remember the alphabet and a few odd words, so I decided to start learning some sign language again.

I found a channel on Youtube that teaches you 100 basic words in BSL. I'm half way through at the moment. I don’t move on to the next sign until each one has sunk into my brain. It could be a long process!

What are your plans for December and the new year?

Well, December is mostly about buying Christmas presents and meeting up with family and friends to swap presents. I've just been out for 3 meals in 2 days so I'm well and truly stuffed!

I don't have any plans yet for the new year apart from lose weight probably and give my flat a good clean (never going to happen). I am hoping for a holiday as well at some point.

How has 2021 treated you thus far?

Like everyone else, life has been in limbo with the coronavirus. However, I've not been that worried about it all. I did go on holiday in the UK (Bournemouth and Cornwall) a couple of times. I also carried on exploring my own county in the numerous lockdowns. It's definitely made me appreciate it more.

Favourite painter?

My favourite is Gustav Klimt, the Austrian symbolist artist. I have a large picture of 'The Kiss' in my bedroom. I love the colours and the style.

I also like the Swiss born artist,
H R Giger who worked on the 'Alien' film. Some of his paintings are a bit too macabre for me, but I do like some of them.

Favourite author?

I like crime novels so it would have to be Patricia Cornwell. I read and watch a lot of crime related things, so I can usually guess whodunnit!
