Hello, food lovers greetings. today's post is about making an easy breakfast for busy workdays.
This is called Dadpe Pohe from my native place. the name means rice flakes with coconut and spices.
This flat rice or rice flakes are called pohe or in north India, powa. Before it wasn't easy to find something like this but nowadays many things are available in an Asian shop or international shop.
Even this frozen fresh shredded coconut I found in an Asian shop in the freezer.
Here are the ingredients for pohe
3 cups of flat rice/ rice flakes
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup fresh coconut (frozen after thawed)
1 tbsp fresh coriander
1/4 tsp salt
1 red chili
1/2 tsp mustard seeds and 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp oil
1 tsp lime juice
Mixing salt sugar coriander coconut, and onion in with the rice flakes.
Sprinkled 2 tbsp water on that mixture.
Then lemon juice 1 tsp
.
In a pan heated 1 tsp oil and smoked 1 red chili in the hot oil. then added mustard seeds and cumin seeds. as soon as they started crackling switched off the heat.
Poured chili oil and mustard cumin seeds into the rice flakes mixture and mixed all ingredients thoroughly.
crushed chili and mixed the mixture once more and here my breakfast is ready it looks like a lot of work but when all things are on hand just need 5 minutes to prepare it.
this recipe was standard fare during my hostel life when studying. my close friends and family like it so much that they often make it still. most everybody likes it so why not give it a go.
