The Riftwatchers are coming
And the Splinterlands will never be the same
Hello Splinterlands Community!
This is the my final post regarding riftwatchers. In my previous post, this covers all summoners and monsters from each element and in this last post it will cover the remaining monsters which is from the neutral element. We'll quickly look the stats and abilities of each monsters I will give my opinion regarding those monsters. If you have missed out my previous post kindly refer to below link.
Disclaimer: All information below are based on my opinion and playstyle. Each player has its own opinion regarding these cards and I'm just going to share my opinion.
Rune Crafter
My current owned highest level Rune Crafter is a ★4 normal foil. Rune Crafter is great against taunt unit.
Rune Crafter is the monster with the fury ability at the baseline level. This card is very good against taunt unit such as Mycelic Slipspawn, Wave Brood and Shieldbearer as these are the common monsters with taunt ability which usualy use in the lower league. Rune Crafter deals a great damage to these monsters because of the fury ability.
In terms of the stats, Rune Crafter cost a high mana which maybe is best to use for a mid to high mana matchup. In terms of attack, it deals a good damage which I think can be great in back to basic. It also have a nice armor and health but overall I think this card is just okay and the second ability which is the snare somehow is not that very useful in my opinion unless dealing with flying unit.
Usage: Specialize against taunt unit which deals double damage because of fury ability. A good choice as well in the back to basic ruleset.
Rating: ★★
Junker
My current owned highest level Juner is a ★4 normal foil. Junker is a good support in the front line tank for two reason: the reach and the repair.
Junker being a neutral card for me is very useful. First the stats of this card is really awesome, he deals a good melee damage with the reach ability where in he can attack in the second position. He also have a high health which serves as a good secondary tank.
Junker starting from gold league got a repair ability which is pretty good especially in fog of war where in it support the frontline in both attack (reach ability) and defense (repair ability).
This card because of the ability and stats are really good and can be pair with different cards and take note that this card is a neutral monster where in he can be use in all 6 element as long as the taking sides ruleset is not in effect.
Below is the a sample battle where I use Junker in the reverse speed with Tarsa for additional damage in the frontline.
Usage: A very useful card which supports the frontline because of the two ability this card have. The reach ability is for the offense and repair ability for the defense. The card is good in the fog of war and odd ones out ruleset.
Rating: ★★★★
Scavo Technomancer
My current owned highest level Scavo Technomancer is a ★3 normal foil. Technomancer is a good support with different debuffs.
Scavo Technomancer by looking in the stats seems not to be a good card because it only deals 1 magic damage, a slow speed and a low health but because it only cost 5 mana I think this stats is okay. Looking up next the ability, it does have a blast ability which is available at ★1. The rust ability which is available starting from silver league is a great anti armor which is great if you have a combination of melee/range and magic lineup. The blind ability which is only available in Diamond and Champion league is also a good additional debuffs in higher league.
Scavo Technomancer because of the slow speed could be good with the Earth splinter especially that Obsidian could buff the magic damage and there are a lot of slow speed monsters in the earth which could be good in reverse speed ruleset. Also if your opponent use earth as well, then there is a chance that they will use Queen Mycelia which gives extra armor and it can be countered by Scavo Technomancer's rust ability.
Below is a sample battle using Scavo Technomancer with the reverse speed ruleset with Obsidian and earth monsters.
Usage: A very good utility card which do have a great debuffs and in my opinion is best with Obsidian especially with the reverse speed ruleset.
Rating: ★★★★★
Coeurl Lurker
The highest value card from the Riftwatcher Edition non other than Coeurl Lurker. Sadly this beast did not appear in my Riftwatcher packs, hoping to get this beast in my remaining packs.
Coeurl Lurker is a very powerful card which have a pretty high melee attack, high health and high speed. It does have a taunt ability to attract attack from the opponents without scattershot ability. The high speed it have is pretty good because it have a dodge and phase ability which is against physical and magical damage. In-case the speed of the enemy is high or it does have a true strike ability, the thorns ability it have will reflect damage to the opponent.
One of the weakness of this card is that it does not have any healing. Since it have all the abilities to defend the team, a tank heal or triage heal I think is a must to include with this card for this card to survive the battle longer. A summoner such as Byzantine Kitty that have a heal and a speed boost is very compatible with Coeurl Lurker.
Usage: A legendary card which is pretty strong. It can be use most of the time no matter if you are against any kind of opponent whether it is physical or magical attack. Must include heal support in order for this card to deal maximum damage and destroy the opponent.
Rating: ★★★★★
Verdict
From the four monsters in the netural element, the most common and usually use are Junker, Scavo Technomancer and Coeurl Lurker. Rune Crafter is strong but I think this card have a specific use only and not most of the time is good to use.
Junker acts a support in the frontline to deal additional melee damage and support by doing the repair. Scavo Technomancer focus on support style by dealing debuffs to your opponents while Coeurl Lurker is the beast among all Riftwatcher monsters which have a pretty awesome abilities to protect its allies while destroying the opponents.
Being a neutral monsters means that those monsters can be use by any element as long as the ruleset allows to which is a must to have in order to create various combination of lineup in each battle.
Thank you for reading my Riftwatcher Series. See you in my next post or hopefully a new series that may comes up in my mind.
