Food Fight Friday
I somehow managed to free this Contender from my deadly grasp of brother. Being locking in a deep freeze for months, this take-no-prisoners Contender is ready for some action.
I feel a little like Don King promoting Mike Tyson
More like this...
The little white guy just tryin to make it through another Food Fight Friday
wind blowing
covered in camo
Along the banks of the
Mighty Columbia River
Is where this Champ resides
source
More of a temporary place of living, a half way house so to speak.
Once my Brother and His Buddies unleash a furry of Shotgun Blasts, Labrador Retreiver waits impatiently in the blind to dive into the fridgid waters and bring back that prize.
Ya my brother,
You won’t catch me sitting out there, freezing my ninners off at 4 A.M. For a little Duck meat. Well if you are like him and a Duck Hunting Fanatic then you get quite a harvest of Duck during the hunting season.
After awakening this Duck meat from its frozen slumber, it’s time to get this contender ready for the action.
Performing smooth slicing motions with the knife, I create thin strips of Duck meat to get this contender into shape.
Oh you think this Duck wasn’t organic, and straight from the Columbia River
Here is the proof
A BB from being blasted out of the air with a shotgun in order to be brought into the kitchen for it’s rigorous training session.
To be a top contender in Food Fight Friday it takes many hours of training, self control, desire, focus and flavor
Speaking of Flavor
This is where the endurance comes in. Marinating these strips of Duck in a teriyaki sesame marinade for about 3-4 days in the refrigerator
Duck meat requires a longer marinating time than most meats. Labeling this contender as a true one-of-a-kind, a diamond in the rough, that true Golden Boy
This being my first time training such a contender, I had to use a different style of workout to get the product I was after
Behold...The Little Chief Smoker
Fill up the pot with wood chips
Place the perfectly sliced meat on the rack and place them inside
It’s time for a little Smoke Session
The Little Chief was pawing through the wood chips, every 10-15 minutes I was reloading. This is crazy!! My contender can’t have equipment running in this fashion and expect to get proper training.
To slow the burning process I soak the wood chips in water for a few minutes
What a difference that made!!
A slow smolder of wood chips save me from running to the store and buying more
Every hour to hour and a half I reload the wood chips. Keepin’ this contenders feet to the fire.
I believe this Contender has what it takes to take down the big boys of Food Fight Friday
Half way done with training and turning out very nice

The hours tick by
My patients with this Contender is definately being tested.
After 8 hours of Smokin’ this Contender is ready for it’s debut on Food Fight Friday
Splatts’ Teriyaki Duck Jerky
Perfect tenderness
A Power Packed Punch of Flavor
This being my first time doin this type of training I call it a success.
But wait
I might call it a success
What do others think?
I take a small sandwich baggy to work for a proper rating of my jerky making skills
Mind you all these guys I work with are big hunters and big meat eaters.
And the Love their jerky
So we are taking this contender straight to the professional level and see how he holds up.
As the co-workers keep coming back for more it seems they have fallen victim to its power packed flavorful bite.
👍🏻👍🏻
Across the board
I was told I need to rob my brothers freezer and take all the Duck that is in there.
The thought of eating Duck meat to most doesn’t sound too tempting but when made into jerky you can’t just have one piece.
With the success of this Food Fight Friday Contender I’m goin to be training future contenders in this fashion.
Beef
Pork
Turkey
Chicken
I’m goin to be utilizing this training method on each of them
The Little Chief Smoker
What are you bringing to Food Fight Friday?
Let’s make a mess!!
