The 2003 film Freaky Friday, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, is a body-swap comedy about a mother and daughter who wake up to find that they have switched bodies.
Tess Coleman (Curtis) is a workaholic mother who is constantly arguing with her teenage daughter, Anna (Lohan). One Friday night, after an especially heated argument, Tess and Anna make a wish that they could understand each other better. The next morning, they wake up to find that their wish has come true - they have switched bodies.
Tess and Anna are initially horrified by the situation, but they soon realize that this is an opportunity to learn more about each other and to see the world from each other's perspective. Tess learns what it's like to be a teenager again, and Anna learns what it's like to be a working mother.
Over the course of the day, Tess and Anna have a number of misadventures. Tess accidentally ruins Anna's big band audition, and Anna accidentally gives a speech at Tess's work conference. However, through it all, they learn to appreciate each other more and to see the world from each other's point of view.
By the end of the day, Tess and Anna have switched back to their own bodies. They are both grateful for the experience, and they have a new understanding of each other.
