The 2015 film Vacation is a reboot of the National Lampoon's Vacation film series. It was directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, and stars Ed Helms, Christina Applegate, Chris Hemsworth, Leslie Mann, Skyler Gisondo, Steele Stebbins, and Chevy Chase.
Plot
The film follows Rusty Griswold (Helms) as he takes his wife, Debbie (Applegate), and their two sons, James (Gisondo) and Kevin (Stebbins), on a cross-country road trip to Walley World, a fictional amusement park. Rusty is hoping to relive the fond memories of his own childhood vacation to Walley World with his father, Clark (Chase).
However, the Griswolds' road trip is not without its misadventures. They encounter a number of obstacles along the way, including a flat tire, a broken-down car, and a run-in with a family of rednecks. They also have to deal with their own family dynamics, including Rusty's struggles to be a good father and Debbie's frustration with Rusty's unrealistic expectations.
Despite all of the setbacks, the Griswolds eventually reach Walley World. However, they soon discover that the park is not as perfect as they had imagined. It is crowded, expensive, and the rides are not as exciting as they had hoped.
Despite their disappointment, the Griswolds eventually realize that the best part of their vacation was not Walley World, but the time they spent together as a family.
