Hello everyone, Welcome back to my today's travel blog. Day before yesterday I shown you one of the beautiful waterfall where it located in Haputale area in Sri Lanka. Today I'm going to share very beautiful hidden waterfall to you which part it located in Sabaragamuwa province in my State. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country with many waterfalls but there are many beautiful waterfalls hidden from our eyes. Ahupini Falls is a beautiful waterfall that many people have never seen before.
This falls is located in the Kandy District within the boundaries of the Kegalle and Kandy Districts. From Colombo to Kegalle it is about two and a half kilometers from Aranayaka to Deiyanwala. The last few steps should be on foot. Another guide said there is another way to get to the falls. It is about 15 km from Kandy to Gampola - Uduwella.
We continuously walked among stones and trees. Also we could see some highest mountain of other side. I saw some local hikes came from that side. It mean we had to climbed up some far distance to see beautiful scenery of Ahupini waterfall.
We were able to enjoy the beauty of the environment by listening to the sound of the water flowing and the sweet sounds of the birds. The small footpath leading to the Ahupini Falls has been cleared for the tourists. They would have to go there and walk down a similar gravel road.
Oh my goodness...There was such a highest stone rock. Absolutely amazing to look above mountain since below. That was really difficult hike without hiking ropes and other equipment. However our aim was only watch waterfall. Go ahead....
You can see the cabin overlooking the Ahupini Falls. But when we got here, the cabin to see the falls was jungle and the roofing sheets were broken. For this reason, being there on rainy days is uncertain.
Woohoo...Finally we came and seen beautiful Ahupini falls.
>*One can hear from the Kegalle district about a waterfall that King Ravana's horse drove. It is called 'Ahupini Ella'. According to folklore, it was 'Asupini falls' or 'Ahupini falls' which later became 'Asupani falls'. It is also known by the name of King Walagamba as "Horse Falls" when fleeing from the Indians.*
It is said to be 300 feet in height and 40 feet in width. Local tourists who visit the falls can add polythene and plastic to the environment. Therefore, it is our collective responsibility to enjoy the beauty of this Ahupini Falls with genuine sensitivity to the environment. So Thanks for reading. See you again.
