The party continues for the Big 3 (BTC, ETH, LTC) and The Locals (HBD, HIVE, CUB). How long this party lasts is anyone's guess. Even so, it's a good idea to keep tabs on how these 6 cryptocurrencies are doing. Also, while project coverage continues into the foreseeabl future, coverage of the first project covered by this series, hive.ausbit.dev concludes. This post will show the closing prices for some cryptos as of 2022 February 5.

This is the reason for this post!
| Crypto | USD (Previous) | 5 February 2022 | 24h Trend | Streak[*] |

Closing Prices come from their respective Historical Data pages at CoinGecko.com.
[*] = Now that streaks are getting longer to display-- especially a series of short streaks, I decided to use the following shorthand:
w = 1 Win w
W = 5w = wwwww
! = 2W = WW = wwwwwwwwww
--> (Wins are EXCELLENT!!)
l = 1 Loss
L = 5l = lllll
? = 2L = LL = llllllllll
--> (Loss? Why, crypto, WHY??)
u = 1 UNCHANGED
U = 5u = uuuuu
- = 2U = UU = uuuuuuuuuu
a = L1W1L1W1 -- alternating streak starting with L
A = W1L1W1L1 -- alternating streak starting with W
Winners (Closed Higher)
| Crypto | Streak | Comments |
|---|---|---|
| BTC | wlwwwlwwlwww | Bitcoin continues to close higher, this time for 3 closes straight. |
| ETH | wwlWllww | Ethereum is holding strong to close higher for a 2-w streak. |
| LTC | llwwwlwwlwww | Litecoin keeps closing higher with a 3rd straight w. |
| HIVE | Wlwllwww | With its 3rd straight w, HIVE could be the first cryoto tracked here to earn a 2nd W (unless BTC does it, then they both do it together). |
| CUB | wlwuwllwlwww | CUB is on its first pure 3-w streak. Could CUB be coming out of hibernation? |
Losers (Closed Lower)
| Crypto | Streak | Comments |
|---|---|---|
| HBD | wlwwlwwllwwl | HBD lost ground to close lower, but it's actually fulfilling its role as a stablecoin by keeping within the +/- 0.050 margin. |
Why Those Cryptos?
Bitcoin and Ethereum
Both BTC and ETH gaines ground the last couple of closings, and their combined market dominance has climbed to 57.7%.
HIVE and Hive-Based Dollar
Have you tried using GoFundMe to raise funds for legal fees or a massive transcontinental road trip (or even tried filling up the fuel tank), only for that service to withhold services (and the funds) from you? #Hive-fixes-this. It's yet another use case for Hive blockchain and both the HIVE cryptocurrency and its companion stablecoin HBD. #hivefixesthis
Cub Finance
Does the stock market let you earn 100% on your investment? It can, but it's not easy. and it's more likely you will lose that 100%. Bonds won't rewards you with that kind of gain, but they will reward you a bit with a couple percent or a few percent. DeFi at Cub Finance can let you earn up to 156.29% from yield farming. The CUB price has moved up to 0.280, 7% of its ATH. CUB is on the move, so get CUB while it's still on sale!
Litecoin
Cryptocurrency was intended to be decentralized money used as money. Of all the first-generation altcoins, Dogecoin best fulfills this role both by being accepted at a number of businesses as well as by peer-to-peer transactions. If DOGE is accepted as payment, chances are that BTC and ETH are accepted as payment as well (BTC for sure). However, there is another altcoin which businesses accept for payment, and it doesn't get the recognition it deserves: Litecoin, progenitor to Dogecoin.

| Not including BTC and ETH, not every crypto is covered by any news source every day. For example, one source may have ETH news on Monday and Wednesday, another would have it on Tuesday and Friday. I'm looking for FUD-free news sources for both the Big 3 and the Locals. I may actually have an easier time finding sources for the Big 3 than for the Locals. Ideally the news would be intraday in order to explain why a crypto went up or down during a 24-hour period; not technical analysys, but somews which came out to cause the rise or fall in prices. If anyone can recommend news sources which are good specifically for these cryptos, please let me know in the comments. |
Something To Read Besides a Table
My quest for finding news sources covering the Big 3 and the Locals is proving productive. The search continues for more news we can use.
Hive has 156 dApps in various stages of development for the Hive platform. I thought it would be a good idea to stay in-house and promote our own offerings. Since this series is devoted to closing prices for some cryptos (with Litecoin replacing EOS), the natural first dApp to cover is hive.ausbit.dev by "@"ausbitbank.
Today's Bit about hive.ausbit.dev
The last post covered the menu items leading to exchanges where HIVE can be traded (Binance, Bittrex, Mandala, and Ionomy). Today's notes Anonymous Servers for Crypto:
- Privex.io
Privex is a privacy-oriented provider of network infrastructure services based in Belize (which has strong privacy laws). As with everything else (except the menu items for PeakD and Hive.Blog), selecting this menu item launches a separate tab or window.

The link to Privex.io is an affiliate link, which is OK since it helps to pay the bills for the hardware used to operate hive.ausbit.dev.
The next post will conclude coverage of hive.ausbit.dev. This one is a quick look at the Project Announcement Post which explains gives more insight into the project.
Just My Two Sats
Partying continued for the Big 3, HIVE, and even CUB. HBD, however, needed to make a, uh, "pit stop" as it closed a bit lower. Even the losing closing is OK for HBD since it maintained its +/- 0.050 margin to maintain its peg as a stablecoin
The quest for news links continues. In the case of the Locals (HIVE, HBD, and CUB), news from outside sources will validate whatever content Hivers publish on the chain regarding these three cryptocurrencies.
The next post takes a look at the menu item Project announcement post. After that, coverage of the 2nd project begins. I know which project will follow hive.ausbit.dev, but I'll leave that detail for next time.
