I had a plan to make 25k steps needed in the competition. I skipped my morning walk, which forced me to do the steps after work.
When leaving home around 5pm, pastor from my church called and asked for giving him a hand with unloading coal for our furnace. This is a good physical exercise, but carrying 10kg buckets of coal makes little steps.
Worse, the pastor invited me to his house to have a coffee. I didn’t refuse… When I was leaving his home at 7pm, I had about 7k stopes. To hit the target, I had to walk some 15km. January, evening…. I didn’t feel like doing it.
But then I said to myself that it’s not that cold - around 0°, no wind - and I could do it walking a huge detour to my city (mostly with well lit and paved sidewalks). So I did it.
