Good morning, travelers from around the world.
The state of Trujillo has places that deserve to be explored in every corner, once we leave behind the magical little town of Mesa de Esnujaque we take a different route, the La Puerta-Timotes and then passed through the city of La Valera to have lunch, but first we stopped at Los Ilustres Park, one of the oldest and most important historical sites in the area, considered a Cultural Heritage Site.
For years it was neglected, but at the end of 2024, it was remodeled, bringing life back to each of its spaces. It has beautiful green areas, a large playground for children, as well as some machines and bars for outdoor exercise, restaurants, and a paramedic station for any emergencies.
I approached a small pond with beautiful fish. Above it were some steps for feeding the fish. I felt like a little girl walking on them. I was fascinated because I had never seen an access like this to go from one end to the other without having to go around.
I really liked that you could climb up to a spot that offered a complete view of Los Ilustres Park. The trees looked impressive from here, and I could feel a gentle breeze and hear the sound of the wind blowing through the leaves. These are simply details of nature that nourish my soul.
This park is named "Los Ilustres" (The Illustrious) because it was built in honor of various historical figures such as: Mercedez Díaz, who donated the land where the city of Valera was built; Américo Briceño, member of the National Academy of History; José Domingo Tejera, poet and novelist; humanist Juan Ignacio Montilla; and Miguel Antonio Mejia, who was Vicar of Valera and Bishop of Guayana.
I took home a beautiful souvenir from Valera and had a wonderful tour of Los Ilustres Park, which combines recreational spaces with an important part of history and culture in one place. I hope to return soon and have more time to visit other sites that I still have time for.

Buenos días, viajeros de todo el mundo.
El estado Trujillo posee lugares que merecen ser conocidos en todos los rincones, una vez que dejamos atrás el mágico pueblito de la Mesa de Esnujaque tomamos un vía distinta, la carretera La Puerta-Timotes para después pasar por la ciudad de la Valera a almorzar, pero antes hicimos una parada en el Parque Los Ilustres, uno de los sitios históricos antiguos y más importantes de la zona, siendo considerado Patrimonio Cultural.
Durante años estuvo descuidado, pero a finales del año 2024, fue remodelado, devolviendo vida a cada uno de sus espacios, cuanta con hermosas áreas verdes, un amplio parque infantil para los más pequeños, al igual que algunas máquinas o barras para hacer ejercicios al aire libre, restaurantes y un puesto con paramédicos para cualquier emergencia.
Me acerque a un pequeño estanque con lindos peces, sobre este se encontraban unos escalones para alimentar a los peces, yo me sentía como niña chiquita caminando por ellos, estaba fascinada porque nunca había visto un acceso como este para ir de un extremo al otro sin tener que rodear.
Me gusto mucho que podías subir a un espacio que permitía tener una vista completa del Parque Los Ilustres, los árboles se veían imponentes desde aquí, además podía sentir una suave brisa y el sonido del viento entrando por cada espacio que se encuentra entre las hojas, sencillamente son detalles de la naturaleza que alimentan a mi ser.
Este parque recibe el nombre de: "Los Ilustres" porque fue construido en homenaje a distintos personajes históricos como: Mercedez Díaz quién donó los terrenos donde se construyó la ciudad de Valera, Américo Briceño miembro de la Academia Nacional de Historia, José Domingo Tejera poeta y novelista, el humanista Juan Ignacio Montilla y Miguel Antonio Mejia quién fue Vicario de Valera y obispo de Guayana.
Me llevó un bonito recuerdo de Valera y que maravilloso recorrido tuve por el Parque Los Ilustres que une espacios recreativos con parte importante de la historia y cultura en un mismo lugar, espero regresar pronto y con más tiempo a visitar otros sitios que aún tengo más tiempo.
