Namaste š
Hope you all are doing great!!!
The second destination after exploring the Bindhabasini Temple was Gupteshwar Mahadev Cave in Pokhara. It was my first day in Pokhara and I was really liking it a lot. If you havenāt been through my last blog, I highly recommend you to check that out first.
Iāll be posting link to that below.

It is one of the biggest cave structure in Nepal. It took us around 20 minutes of time in the minibus to come to this place from our first destination. As soon as we got off the bus, we were teleported to a place completely different.
At first, we didnāt thought that there would be any cave structure here, but as soon as we started approaching this market with shops on both sides, selling traditional Nepali stuff, we came across this signboard, stating there was a structure present here.
If you have been following my journey lately, you must be knowing that I am travelling with a group of people, so everything is arranged and we donāt have to think about anything like any travel, any kind of ticket and any kind of destinations to explore everything and all we have to do is travel carefree.
Keeping that in mind, we were quite peaceful that we would be provided with the tickets to get inside, and as soon as we entered the gate, they were people distributing tickets to the people of our group, so we got ourselves the ticket to get inside of the cave.
In the above photograph, you can see the ticket. It was not that expensive. Iām not sure about the price of the ticket, but it was quite inexpensive, and it was provided at a nominal charge.
As soon as you have the ticket, now, you can get inside of the spiral like structure that leads you to the underground depth. This structure really looked quite unique, and I havenāt seen anything like that in my life before.
As we were approaching downwards in the spiral structure, I begin to worry about the slippery surface as well as the suffocating environment of this place. Sooner or later, I realise that this was not at all safe for my grandparents to visit as the entry point was very very narrow and it could get suffocating as well.
So I advise my grandparents to stay out and took their photo outside of the cave in the photograph. You can see them posing outside of the cave. They were not said, but they were quite happy to be here also.
As now I had carefully made my grandparents sit at a comfortable place. I was now carefree to explore the place on my own. So we came across this entry of the cave, which was very very narrow and people were struggling to get inside as they were people who were continuously coming out of the cave as well.
I somehow managed to get inside after struggling for a while, and as soon as I got inside, I was greeted by this structure that was dedicated to Goa Mata. Cow is worshipped like a goddess in Hindu culture and this place was dedicated to that.
As soon as you enter the cafe, and after you take darshan of this holy place, now you had to go to the deeper part of the cave through the staircase that you can see in the photograph below.
Now it was time for me to get deeper and deeper inside the ground to finally reach the waterfall for which it was famous. The main attraction of this cave was the temple thatās built inside of the cave.
Photography was not allowed outside of the temple, so I kept my phone in my pocket at all times as I didnāt wanted to break rules, but let me tell you. The temple was really mesmerising and one of a kind. I havenāt seen a Shiva temple like that in my life before.
The cave was getting narrow at some point and quite wide at some too. You have to be really careful at all the time because of the slippery surface of the cave. There were some people who were really started to suffocate so they had to be taken out as soon as possible. The oxygen level was quite low inside of the cave and because of the number of people rising inside of the cave, the atmosphere was getting more suffocating.
But that was only until we reached the wide part of the cave inside of 126 feet Deep land. After reaching the end point of the cave, we were greeted by this huge waterfall that was falling from top to the bottom as you can see in the photograph below.
This waterfall is Devis waterfall, which is really famous tourist place in Pokhara. The next destination that we would visit this waterfall and we would see that from the other side and from the top.
So after spending some time there inside of the cave, I moved out because I had to also take my grandparents with me and show them. The Davis falls as they were not able to see the cave from inside, so I thought it would be better to take the first Turn in getting inside of the Davisās fall.
Iām gonna tell you guys about Davis Falls in next blog.
Thanks for passing by.
