As the holidays are approaching I noticed a couple members of the #silvergoldsavers community have started Christmas wish lists. It sounded fun so I'll be doing the same. Of course not everyone celebrates Christmas, but the holiday season is still a lot of fun! Now many of these items are on my "wish" list for a good reason, mainly because many of them aren't things I can afford to by very often. But that is what makes the wish list so much fun!
So let's start with day one of the Christmas wish list, this one is so nice I'll show it again!
Just look at that detailing!
A nice antiqued looking obverse
And a nice presentation box!

About the coin:
Country: Republic of Ghana
Year: 2024
Mintage: 150
Composition: 99.9% silver
Weight: 1 kilogram (32.15 Troy ounces)
Obverse: Coat of Arms of the Republic of Ghana, denomination, year, and silver amount and purity
Reverse: Dragon face with a Swarovski crystal on the forehead
This coin is truly amazing... first off it's a full kilogram of silver which is pretty cool. But the coloring and detailing of the coin are stunning. They finish it off with a crystal from Swarovski, a high end jewelry company (I didn't know that, I had to Google it.) Exactly what type of crystal I'm not entirely sure as I couldn't find it anywhere online. It comes with it's own presentation box and even a pair of white cotton gloves to enjoy your coin.
Now the price tag on this item is a little scary at $2,795 US. APMEX will let you pay with crypto though for an additional thirty dollars! This one is a keeper, it would be nice to have in my collection and with such limited mintage and large quantity of silver it's very likely to appreciate quickly. It's a gorgeous piece of artwork for the year of the dragon 2024!
As has mentioned many mints are approaching smaller countries to produce commemorative coins as a way for the government to make extra money as well as be a way to get tourists interesting in visiting. And the mint makes money as well so it's a win/win.
Ghana is also a nation that has a lot of precious metals in their borders so it makes since for them to produce such a beautiful and heavy coin.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and read my post of the day, I do hope you enjoyed it. I sure enjoyed writing it, that coin has me drooling! If you have any suggestions, questions, or comments please feel free to leave them below. Have a great weekend everyone!
And my disclaimer:
