Dear readers,
Welcome to week #15 of the Vegans of Steemit Newsletter! Today is the first newsletter we publish on the very first day of 2019, and I have to say 2018 has been amazing for VoS. We've had our obstacles of course, but all in all our community has grown quite large and strong despite the hostile market conditions, and it's been a great run for us here being able to feature any type of content, from activism to homesteading, ethical questions, health topics as well as vegan recipes.
Some statistics and achievements
Our discord server now counts 185 members, and while many are currently dormant, I see it as a great achievement nonetheless. It means we have 185 people on this platform who share the same interests, values and principles, and who want to do some good in the world by caring about animals and the environment. I'm sure there are many more who will join us this year.
Since the creation of our
account, we have 287 followers. You may think this is little, but I'm confident that this number will grow fast with all the new challenges we have in store for you for this coming year.
In 2018 we also received a generous delegation from
, and I would like to thank him for his continuing support. Without people like him, our voting trail wouldn't be able to curate and upvote your content, and we hope to increase our voting power sufficiently this year so that our vote can make a difference.
Thanks to
, we got whitelisted for the use of
and thanks to this we are finally able to grow our SP with every post we publish under the VoS account. Thanks Eric!!
Our curation trail currently counts 8 members who are delegating a % of their daily voting power, and these include

and myself. Thank you all for teaming up, because it's only by joining forces that we can be strong enough to help members individually.
I would like to thank the few core members who are always present on discord and help with contests and ideas, especially
, but also
and
who have been loyal from the start. I would also like to thank those who constantly support our weekly newsletter by upvoting and resteeming our content!
How to receive an upvote from
If you'd like to receive automatic upvotes from , please consider joining the curation trail here. Give, and you shall receive.
The purpose of this account is to help its members by upvoting their content, so by joining the trail (even with a small percentage) you will receive this support also on YOUR content on a daily basis. I personally hope to grow the trail exponentially, so that we can all benefit from it as a community.
Remember, l'union fait la force, meaning unity makes us strong.
Let's make this 2019 an amazing year for vegans!
Now without further ado I will let you jump right into some of this week's articles worthwhile sharing.

Many people believe that vegans don't have a lot of food choices, but they are wrong! The purpose of this section is to portray just how many different delicious meal recipes there are to choose from, the options are endless! Each week, we'll show you at least three different recipes, one for breakfast, lunch / dinner, as well as some mouth watering desserts.
