Good morning to everyone who reads me now (I have a late morning so that's why I said hello, and in general you can take it as just "hello"). Today, I continue my story about my first mountain hiking experience.
So yesterday I stopped by what I told you about the destroyed observatory on the top of Mount Pip-Ivan. We arrived there in the evening, but did not want to stay overnight because of the strong wind and lack of fuel, instead we decided to go down the mountain, walk a little back up the ridge and then go down a little to protect ourselves from the wind.
We were looking for a level place to comfortably camp, but did not find one and decided to stop on the slope of the mountain, since the sun was already setting and in a few minutes it was complete darkness. We quickly took off our backpacks, some of us began to set up tents, and the rest went to collect shrubs for the fire.
By the time we started the fire, it was already completely dark. We spread our tourist rugs around the campfire and started making dinner. As we dined, we sat around the fire for a long time, enjoying the warmth, the clear mountain air and the feeling of being separated from the rest of the world. After a while we went to our tents to sleep.
I have to admit that, despite the fact that I was very tired, I slept badly because, because the tent was on a slope of a mountain at a rather acute angle, I kept sliding down and literally going outside the tent outside. And my neighbor snored like a bear. Because of this, I woke up most early of all and got out of the tent outside. The sun was rised, so I was able to admire the distant mountains enough.
In the morning we are faced with the problem of drinking water for breakfast. The fact is that we stopped far from the source, because due to the rapid onset of darkness we could not move further. In the evening it was not a problem because we brought enough water with us, but in the morning it was gone. We solved this question in an original, but very simple way - we just melted the snow in our hiking boiler suspended above the fire. And we cut the snow into large ice cubes using a machete.
After breakfast, we assembled our camp and set off on our way. At first we went up the mountain range again (Chornogora, if anyone forgot), from where we descended yesterday. After a short halt we went further down the mountain trail. We had a very long route waiting for us that day, but I hadn't even guessed.
