Remember our fearless funny happy and motivating Pirate Captain ? She decided enough was enough with sitting around, feeling sad and isolated by ourselves...She challenged us, all, to get out and make life! Grow something. Give something... and do something...
... and thus, GroVid20 was born
That first GroVid20 Challenge
I planted a half dozen tomato, a handful of pepper, some peas and some herbs. A little bit of lettuce, and salad greens. Basically, getting my thumb green again, since I was out of gardening for a dozen years.
Last year, GroVid21, I upped my game some! Perhaps tripling in some cases 4 times the amount planted. And obviously, The Harvest Results Showed in the recap post.
This year? well, more of the same, serious gardening, and planning on doing more dehydrated vegetables to stretch out the harvest longer, and feed my family on my garden well past growing season!
More Seeds Are Ordered!
Not only that, but there are seeds from last year...
Over the next or so, I will take all those seed packets and decide what to grow, and when to seed start indoors. Potato goes into the Grown Bags mid February. Onion goes in, last of February Early March. Tomato, Pepper go out to my glass cold/sun porch early April, for hardening off. That means, peppers get planted 10-12 weeks before, and tomato 8-10 weeks before. Peas and lettuce seed go outside for planting mid to late April.
Look for big decisions in the next two weeks... and videos and posts to document the season, coming soon! Gotta get my little Bluefy Butt in gear and get planning...
