I was a bit of a Goth once-upon-a-life ago.
Kinda combination of Hard Rock and Goth, really. Because I've never stuck to one group or circle in my entire life.
Low res vs: 1 (not for resale)
All of them interest me. All of them have value. I have learned from all of them.
So always more than one "only me". Black leather jacket. Long flaming red hair. Knee high leather boots. A white pirate shirt, open at the neck with no bra and just transparent enough for my nipples to be outlined, face pale as the moon, blood red lips, cat-eyed black liner and heavy mascara. It did the job.
Back then I used to be an avid Horror fan. Couldn't get enough of them. The scarier and more gruesome the better, you know. Maybe trying to face some fear because underneath all that dress-up I was mostly afraid of my own Shadow.
They say "fake it 'til you make it."
But some things cannot be faked.
Over the years I began to watch them less. Up to the point that I can't watch them at all.
Perhaps the fact that they aren't so unlikely is why. Maybe the more we grow up and see of the world, the more frightening it becomes. And the more possible those movies seem.
The most frightening Horror movie I've ever watched... well... there are two actually. One watched by accident because I had no idea of the plot. I still have mental flashbacks from it, in fact. Of one particular scene.
I can't remember the name. And I'm not even willing to dig it up. That bad. It was about torturing people for pleasure though. Some of you may know it. Kidnapping people and holding them captive so that people who could afford it, normal citizens with money, could buy one to torture in the way it suited them best.
Average citizens who were given the opportunity to act out their hidden urges.
The other I do remember because it is an interesting conversation. Or concept, I mean.
The Purge.
This is the most frightening one. To me.
Because of the open-ness of it, I guess. The other was far more violent and gruesome but, since it was only for the wealthy elite and "underground", one might hope that this doesn't represent the masses quite so much.
The Purge is truthful. In many ways. Too close to home. For me. About our society. And what our values have become. And what we are trying to survive. It's a good plot. Well thought out, I think.
No governance for one night of the year. That fucking terrifies me. Honestly. Far, far more than some people who get off on hurting people. That I know happens very regularly. We just choose to not see it, mostly.
In case you have't seen this one here is the trailer. Worth considering if you know anything much about human nature. Or have been following the information I've been trying to share around here.
Self-governance is impossible if we don't know ourselves.
The end.
is for good men (and women) to not know their Shadow

Some folks who've been following this experiential journey may be seeing a peek of their Shadow 'round about now. Hang in there... it'll pass and it'll become less uncomfortable with practice...❤️
