This dessert is decadent, yet cheap. It’s easy to pull of in a pinch and always looks nice on the plate.
Ingredients:
Wonton Wrappers
Fresh Strawberries
Cream Cheese
Powdered Sugar
Chocolate Sauce
Oil for Frying
Procedure:
Heat oil on high in either a wok or deep-walled sauce pan. Oil should be at least 1 1/2″ deep and 350-375* F
As oil is heating mix cream cheese with powdered sugar. For every 4oz package of cream cheese use 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar. Cut strawberries into thin slices.
Place a little cream cheese and one or two strawberry slices in the center of each wonton wrapper. Fold all for corners together, either in a pyramid or flat like a present. If the edges are having trouble sticking together you can use a little water or saliva to help them stick better.
Carefully place the wontons in frying oil and let them cook until crispy and golden. When they are finished cooking, remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel covered plate to make sure the excess oil is allowed to drain off. I like to plate the wontons with a little chocolate sauce underneath and a sprinkling of powdered sugar on top.
