Hello my fellow Steemit Friends! So, for the longest time I struggled with including enough fruits and vegetables in my diet. Since I am a Mom to a child who is allergic to everything, I have incorporated healthier eating into my diet while catering my meals around his allergies. Like many other 5 year olds, he isn't the biggest fan of vegetables either; and he'd much rather eat a cupcake than an apple. However, I've found that smoothies are a great way for us to get lots of fruits and vegetables into our diet in a way that's kid tested and mother approved!
Here is a smoothie (before we blended it) that we made for mid-afternoon snack today. I had a refrigerator full of fruit that got used for a good cause ;-)
My colorful, healthy, and oh-so-delicious smoothie recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup of Watermelon chunks
1/2 cup of Strawberries
1/2 cup of Orange slices
1 cup of Pineapple chunks
Handful of Baby Spinach
1/4 cup of Blueberries
2 tablespoons of Pure Honey
1/2 cup of Unsweetened Plain Yogurt
1/2 cup of Coconut Milk
Put everything in the blender and blend until smooth! Enjoy!
