Facing your demons is hard at any point in life, but it's especially taxing during a time like Ramadan when your usual coping mechanisms have been taken away from you due to fasting.
Yet, as is the case with any challenge you face, there is always a massive opportunity to learn and grow.
So, this year, I have been working on the battle of my mind; that incessant inner critic that loves to confuse, degrade and stress me.
Indeed, one of the greatest things about Ramadan, in my opinion, is this gift of self-reflection.
And used wisely, this time can really help you to come out the other side a stronger and better version of yourself.
Personally, I hope to develop the habit of paying attention to every negative thought, questioning it's origins and working through it, instead of relying on something or someone else to distract me from the pain and discomfort.
