Steemfest is only three days away! There's a plan for some of us to go out for a run on Saturday morning. I know is up for it. I think I suggested about 7:30 to allow an hour or so before meeting people at breakfast. I get there on Wednesday and I may try for an exploratory run on Thursday morning. I know there are drinks the night before, but I'm not a big drinker.
Today I was up reasonably early and the weather was looking okay. Definitely autumnal, but not too cold. I thought I felt a few drops of rain as I went out, but it didn't amount to anything.
We've just had Halloween and there are lots of pumpkins around. I've seen a few scattered around and assume people have tossed them out. I'd hope it's to feed the wildlife as it's a waste otherwise. I think it's a very small percentage of pumpkins sold in the UK that get eaten and most are sold in the week before Halloween to be carved. Here's one I found along the way. Taking this photo caused Endomondo and Pocket Casts to crash again, so my run log got split. This is an annoying Android bug. I managed to snap my headphone cable. I was listening to Bad Voltage (Linux/geek/tech) and then just started Positively Negative by our own .
I didn't set out with a real plan, but I have been thinking of extending my Sunday runs to get me in better shape for doing another half marathon. I was feeling good, so I headed over to where the parkrun takes place and did part of that course. Endomondo can be a bit dumb. Of course it's my longest run of the month as it's the first. It would be longer if it had been recorded as a single run. 12.5km is not bad considering I did a run yesterday. I've never managed to run many days consecutively. A friend does 4 miles every day, but his body must have adapted to that.
Breakfast was cereal and fruit with some orange juice. I usually have soya milk, but after writing this post I decided I should try other non-dairy 'milk'. This oat stuff is different, but not bad. Definitely oaty.
I encourage you to check out and support some other runners on Steemit:
is on the treadmill as the weather is pretty bad in New Zealand.
is also in New Zealand, but I think he's just visiting.
has some spectacular landscapes in South Africa.
is tearing it up in Barcelona.
You can find many more runners using the #RunningProject tag. This is a fine example of a supportive community on Steemit.
