Me celebrating my 40th birthday
This is my training week, hoping to post every Friday with a breakdown of my training, including current race focus, goals and how the weekend went. So here is my break down of the weekend ending Thursday 31th of May.
This Weeks Training Focus
I am heading to Christchurch this Sunday for my 4th race in three months and this time I will be pacing my girlfriend to a hopeful BQ. I am still setting up my new schedule as I will be kicking my cycling training up a notch to hopefully finish this Winter with some good gains on my bike leg. Because I ran a half marathon on Sunday my training this week has been on recovering and making sure there were no niggling issues from my race and I go into this weekend marathon fresh and ready. Early mornings are still a struggle as it has been cold but I need to stop this in the coming weeks and its not going to get any warmer over the next few months.
The following is a breakdown from strava on my weekly progress:
Swim: 5.3km
Bike: 50km
Run: 34km
SubTotal: 89.3
May Total: 349.3km

- Wellington Marathon - 1 July 2018
How The Week Went
I performed a fitness test on the bike on Wednesday which although didn't leave me feeling tired, but my muscles are still a little sore. Training is still simple with my weeks training no looking to go over 10 hours for the next month or so.
