This is my entry for the Secrets of Organ Playing Contest Week 64. I'm playing Fanfare for the Common Man by Aaron Copland (arranged for the organ).
It was written in 1942 for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra under conductor Eugene Goossens and was inspired in part by a speech made earlier that year by United States Vice President Henry A. Wallace, in which Wallace proclaimed the dawning of the "Century of the Common Man".

You'll recognise this piece because fragements of it have been used in movies. I'm not quite sure why I recorded this type of piece this week (and I'm super early because, you know, coronavirus?). Perhaps let's think of this piece being played once this whole global pandemic is over. and I, plus the children, are self isolating as much as possible in order to help stop the spread of this virus.
This was recorded on the Henry Willis organ in Salisbury Cathedral (England), using the Hauptwerk VPO software.
