On to week 79 and BWV 636. A straightforward setting of the Martin Luther's paraphrasing of the Lord's Prayer, the melody is presented without embellishment in the upper most voice. The three lower voices work in counterpoint based on a short rhythmic motive heard first in the tenor (left-hand) part. I tried a new registration for this piece that I read about in an organ registration book that I have lying around somewhere. It is a flute 8' and principal 4' in the manuals with flute 16' and principal 8' in the pedals. I hoped to provide clarity to the independent lines rather than just use flutes 8' and 4' in the manuals as well as flutes 16' and 8' in the pedals. Let me know what you think.
