Barbecue isn't very big in South Africa... Yes, we do a lot of braaing (which is called 'grilling' in many other countries), but barbecue normally refers to "low and slow". I do a lot of pork on the BBQ, and it's delicious, yes... but my new favourite is beef short ribs. We don't always have access to quality brisket here in South Africa, and so when we practice brisket BBQ, it's often done using the short rib.
