Welcome to the latest edition of the SoCal Steemit Visiting Hour post!

Every tuesday at 8pm Hive account@socalsteemit is doing a weekly voice and text chat for the members in our Discord server! Here we'll be giving a short summary of our previous chat and bring up potential topics for the next upcoming chat.

Last Nights Visiting Hour

In the last SoCal Visiting Hour we had Hive account@mariannewest, Hive account@csusbgeochem1, and myself (Hive account@derekrichardson) all join in the conversation!

We started off by talking about all the fun times at the last meetup. Hive account@improv and Hive account@stinawog hosted a really awesome thanksgaming! Then putting an end to the fun talk we talked a bit about the low Steem and SBD prices. It's just brutal. Hive account@mariannewest had told us that converting SBD to Steem instead of using the internal market has been more profitable, but I guess this is no longer going to be the case as is explained by Hive account@themarkymark in this post.

We discussed doing a thanksgiving themed contest this week, but decided it would be to last minute. So the 'Show Us Your California' contest will begin tomorrow as normally scheduled. Also we threw around the idea of a "recipe book" post for saturdays. Details haven't really been sorted out, but essentially members would enter their recipes and then we would feature them in the "recipe book". If you like this idea or have any suggestions for it please let us know in the comments!

Lastly we talked a bit about the Hive account@cleanplanet project and how we thought it would be a great idea to try to do some meetups where we could come together to clean up litter. I know myself and Hive account@creationofcare have also talked about doing this. And we've actually done it already. But now with Hive account@cleanplanet we can also get Steem rewards for our cleaning efforts!

In next Tuesdays SoCal Visiting Hour we'd like to talk more about ideas for growing and improving the SoCal Steemit community as well as anything else any members would like to bring up and discuss!
