Round-up

Game 1: Serbia v Brazil - 0 - 2

Brazil concluded the group stage with a 2-0 win over Serbia to top the group. Barcelona's Paulinho broke through the midfield to open the scoring. Thiago Silva sealed the win in the second half with a thumping header from a corner.

Game 2: South Korea v Germany - 2 - 0

South Korea caused a major upset defeating Germany and eliminating the defending World Champion in the first round of the competition. Two injury time goals sealed the German's fate and although South Korea were also eliminated they will have a memorable moment to take with them out of the competition.

Game 3: Mexico v Sweden - 0 - 3

A comprehensive win over Mexico sealed Sweden's place in the group stages. Mexico qualified also, however the Swede's will take good momentum with them into the next round.

Game 4: England v Belgium - 0 - 1

An Adnan Januzaj strike clinched top spot for Belgium. England won't be too sad however defeat means that they are (arguably) into the better half of the draw, with an easier route to the semi-finals.

Game 5: Senegal v Colombia - 0 - 1

Senegal were made to paid for not making their first half dominance count as they succumb to a Yerry Mina header deep in the second half. Senegal exit the competition on yellow card count-back to Japan. Senegal's exit means that there will be no African teams in the last 16 of the World Cup. It will be a particularly bitterpill as Senegal will feel they were the better team in all three group matches. However it's a results business and Colombia got the win that takes them through to the knockout stages.
