If you're feeling helpless and alone and you need to talk to somebody, go out and talk to people. I'm not even talking crisis centers, although those are wonderful for when people feel overwhelmed and hanging by a thread. You can go to one of of those, there are so many loving hearts ready to listen in those places. Or, go to a gas station and strike up a silly conversation about weird gas station foods, candy or silly lottery trivia just to get your mind off what is eating at it and to have a frivolous conversation with another person. We are social creatures and just interacting with others can reduce the stress we feel.
