Each Sunday I am scheduled to play at church, I have to prepare an organ accompanied Responsorial Psalm. I am currently using a publication called the Responsorial Psalms and Gospel Acclamations by Royce Nickel. I really like his arrangements because they are based on the church modes—sounding more solemn and natural in delivery. However, the texts used are for the American Missal rather than the Australian one. Whilst essentially the meaning is the same, if people are following the text from missals or pew sheets—it won't match up.
What I have to do is scan in the music and update each psalm verse from my missal. You can see how I line up the syllables to the music in fast motion! It's not the most ideal situation, but spending 10 minutes doing this gets me really familiar with the accompaniment (saves me on practice time!).
Yours truly,
contrabourdon
