Grund Enraged!
As a follow-up to my previous post about The Forgotten One getting enraged, I was curious to see what an enraged Grund would look like. In the Super Sneak ruleset, I usually tend to avoid putting Grund in the very last spot mainly because without any armor or defensive abilities, even though it has 10 HP, Grund often gets quickly wiped out.
However, when I saw that the second ruleset was Spreading Fury, I couldn’t help myself but try this out by purposefully letting Grund get hit. Fortunately for me, it worked out well. Grund got hit just enough to get enraged, which bestowed it a total of 2 x 5 Melee attacks thanks to its Double Strike ability.
Similar to one of the examples I showcased for The Forgotten One, the victim was once again Flesh Golem. Its healing ability was quite ineffective, to say the least, against the huge amount of damage Grund was dealing. Moreover, having chosen Mylor Crowling as my summoner, its Heal would have at most offset Grund’s Thorns.
Personally, I don’t like to run a tank with Heal in a Spreading Fury battle. This might sound counterintuitive at first, but the Heal actually negates the benefits of getting enraged. On top of that, healing for 2 or 3 HP is usually not enough to sustain against increasing Melee damage coming from the opposition. I would rather plan for my monsters to get enraged without getting killed.
As you can see, in the right context, this Enraged version of Grund can be immensely devastating!
