Rumours are rife that Thibaut Courtois may have an anxiety problem and which as a result has made him to be left out of Real Madrid's squad expected to play against Granada this weekend. But the club has denied this.
Coach Zinedine Zidane said Thibaut wasn't well to continue the game when the Belgian goalkeeper was substituted at half-time in Madrid's Champions League draw with Club Brugge in midweek.
But the media disclosed that Courtois experiences anxiety but the club denied and claimed rather that it was gastroenteritis.
In relation to certain information about our player, Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid want to state the following,” said the statement.
“Our player has never been diagnosed with anxiety and that information is absolutely false.
He went on to say that Courtois was being treated for gastroenteritis with dehydration and electrolyte imbalance and he was already on his way to recovery.
