Let's talk a little

This account is a secondary account of mine. My primary account is Hive account@nikema . I started this account with the goal of community fundraising. I believe in the concept of basic income and I'm very impressed by #steembasicincome here. I am seeing how the income added by STEEM is changing lives around the world. I see huge potential in using this blockchain as a tool to improve our lives.

So I'd like to know, if STEEM has changed your life and if so, how?

My answer: Yes!

The STEEM community has made me aware that I have value I can add to the community right now and I can be compensated for it. After I joined steemit and starting getting into creating posts, my creativity was awakened. I had been very focused on "success as an entrepreneur" and I'd neglected my coding journey and my art work prior to getting active here.

It didn't take long for me to find my way to Discord and that's when things really changed. I realized that my people are here. All of my peoples (I can use made-up words) are here. The artists, the entreprenuers, the unschoolers, the developers, the mamas.... and so on.

I saw utopian submissions earning hundreds in rewards. I saw the intersection of art and crypto with Hive account@creativecrypto. I heard lovely live performances. I listened to the thoughts and opinions of others without the nastiness that seemed to hang over Facebook and Twitter.

I had unknowingly spoken a prayer that was answered by the STEEM community. I had been telling my friends, I want to widen my social circle. That's hard to do in the local community. There's only so many of your people in your city or neighborhood. Especially when you're an eccentric weirdo like me. That's not a put-down, it's just an apt description :)

Unschooling, entrepreneurial, artists who code and manage single-parenting, social anxiety, and depression. I bet I can find a few people who fit that description between steemit and Discord. I bet it would be harder to find someone in my city who fits the description that I don't already know. I've made friends just from steemit and Discord. This is a legit way to socialize and earn money.
