Sooooo Steamies I've not been too active on here this week just due to the busy weekend and busy week trying to get all bits done before the end of the year.
The focus has been on starting to write down next year's plans bit by bit in bullet point form (tasks I can add detail to once I get to settle down of them quiet Christmas days with the family). I try to do them as they come to my head with a few already set in place, dates and all that I can use as a base and start planning around.
From the looks of things I'll probably have to curtail a few for the next year but you never know when you set goals sometimes as some years you just smash through them!
There will be more on this come end of the year.
Let's get to the weekend activities for now as I'm probably still knackered from that loool!
After almost a 19hr day consisting of work, clients and Xmas party drinks ( if you don't know already I am partial to a nice whisky when permitted).
I started my Saturday at 730am after getting in about 1am and then fannying about until 2am as I do most nights :(
The first thing was to sort out my bag as It was going to be another long day where I would need a few changes of clothes and a bag of energy to boot!
There was some drying that needed to be done from the clothes I had put to wash the nigh... I mean earlier that morning. Then actually pack my bags and do the double check so I didn't have to head back home.
First stop Oxford street to see my Fit@40 client !
Getting there early I managed to get a Coffee and some Lemmon and ginger drink as I'd totally forgot about breakfast in the morning.
Got in the gym, got changed and got ready to give the big man anther easy session (wink, wink)
As always I lul him in to that false sense of security that it's all going to be alright and he'll hardly notice he's left his bed! (MWWhhhaaaAaaaAaahhaaa)
I blast him on the cross trainer and give him and extra round of skipping (3) but shorten his times from 2 mins to 1 min!
I want to work more on his technique and actual boxing fitness! See how much dig and focus he has when he is tired!
We switch up the combos and add some foot movement in whilst we go over the basics I have been telling him through out at which he is getting a lot better at now so we are able to make good progress!
One thing I will continually do with clients is speak on the basics even once I have advanced them as so they have that reminder when they move on to different techniques ( more for your fast learner who you can see wants to do some more fun stuff than just jab the whole session until it's spot on) With Tony I give him new bits each session but make sure we repeat those basics whilst he's picking up the new techniques! I'll start of with the basic info! Let him get the gist! Then focus on the New technique whilst only dropping the odd reminder of the basics!
People tend to learn more when its fun and play so I try to keep that going!
(Probably not as fun for him when I keep him doing combos when his shoulders and arms are screaming looool)
As he was doing so good I have him a lil treat and made him do plank with his feet on the medicine ball! A nice core exercise which he does need to help up the power of his punches whislt keeping his body up right!
Tony clearly enjoyed this as he was smiling through out and closing his eyes thinking of all things cake!!!
I'm really looking forward to this week's one just to see that face when he gets some new exercises to play with ;)
Straight after Tony's session I had to get down to London Shootfighters and catch up with our homeboy Rants N Bants who has just started doing BJJ and wanted to get in some drills and rolling. I've not rolled since Japan (about 3 months) so was happy to run him over the basics that I know then get in some rolling as well.
For someone whos only done 4 weeks of BJJ he's already got some basic things like good base, elbows in and good grips/hand positioning. I think he'll be a good competitor in the near future!
So after stretch, shower and some needed water ilI hung about for Rants as he was just finishing off some treatment.
We head to the station!
He was going to check out the venue for his stand up show this coming weekend 10/12/ in Hoxton.

And I was heading off to Twickenham to do some refereeing for a kickboxing and boxing show called Wrapped and Ready!
A great show with about 14 fights and probably three to four hundred spectators.
Still not eaten by this point I arrived just before I had to give the fighters a briefing on the rules set by the organisers!
This was a show I had done once before and I can say has improved alot! There were some really great fights and outside of the fights my highlight was getting a towel that had my name on it made by the organisers :)
Thanks to some kind folk who were heading to the shops just before I had to go to work in the ring I was brought some roast chicken with roasted veg that went down a treat.
By the end of it all taking team photos and a pic with some of the old guys I have had the priverlige to coach or teach with I headed back home.
Getting in at minutes to 2 meant that Sunday wasn't just written off but it was written Roooooooight ooooooorrrrfffff!
My body truely needed the rest but on Monday it had felt like I'd had too much sleep!
Mind still sharp but body feeling sluggish!
I think as we draw close the end of the year we all start to slow down a bit with the change in weather and knowing some of us will have a week off from the main job ready to get back in the ball for the New Year!
I'm really looking forward to s busy year with some breaks planned in as well so that I can keep up the pace for 2018.
I hope you are all starting to think about 2018 goals already as the years are just flying by and there's no time like now ;)
