There are some steemains on this platform that deserve an accolade for the good work that they are doing on the steem platform. Such people I call them noble steemains because they have been supporting this platform in one way or the other.
Over the course of time, I will be introducing you to many of the noble steemains here in our community and trying to get to know each of them little better. I have taken this upon myself to shed more light on who this noble steemains are and what they are capable of doing.
Can you tell our readers reading this how you first heard about steemit and what motivated you to join?
I first heard about it from my good friend
. He showed me Steemit and I saw that he made a lot of money just posting up a meme. This was before the pay-outs and a lot of people were saying it was a scam.
Anyway, I had just made a pledge with myself to be more curious and accepting of change. So after I read a little bit about Dan Larimer, I decided to take the plunge and start writing for Steemit.
I’m very glad I did!
As a steemain what is the biggest challenge you have ever faced since you joined steemit?
Getting noticed was pretty hard, though not as hard as it is today. I’d say my biggest challenge has been to stay out of petty fights and arguments. I’m very argumentative and my mouth can get me in trouble a lot. So yeah, biting my lip and shutting the hell up has been my biggest challenge.
If you ask some steemains they will tell you that they are not steeming for rewards and all that they need is just relationship with other steemains, now if rewards are removed from steem, would you still blog on steem?
Well I can say that if the rewards weren’t there in the first place then no, I would not be here. I was at a time in my life when I was trying to be involved in less social media, not more. However If you suddenly took the rewards away I would still blog. However it would be a lot less.
Yeah, making friends and building relationships is good on this platform, can you tell us which steemains have contributed and impacted your blogging experience since you joined steemit?
There are too many to mention, so if anyone is reading this thinking I should mention them they’re probably right and I apologise in advance.
I would say

What were you told before you joined steemit?
Hey there’s this site paying people for posting stuff.
Can you tell the community one thing that people will remember you for even if you quit steemit today?
I’d hope they remember me for my sci-fi writing and my ability to apply critical thinking. That’s two things though 😊
If you could give advice to newbies on how to be successful on this platform, what would it be?
My advice now is somewhat different than it would have been two years ago, and it really depends on your background.
So first of all if you have a writing background already, then you are at an advantage. Try and bring your followers onto Steemit, and make sure you engage in writing competitions and various groups on Discord and to a lesser extent Steemit chat.
If you do not have any writing experience, then try and find your niche, but don’t commit to something too early. I’ve seen people come on here and think, ‘yeah, I’ll write about gaming.’ However they soon run out of stuff to write about. So keep it broad at first, but most of all try and make it interesting. Look at what interests you and see if you can recreate that in a fun and unique way.
I see so many stale articles, whereby somebody has written about something, but you can tell their hearts are not into it.
The most important thing, (especially if you are a writer) is presentation. I have seen some interesting blogs on here, but I can’t read them because they have just put a huge chunk of text with no paragraphs and no subheadings.
You can get away with no subheadings if you’re writing fiction, but for nonfiction, please, please, please with cherries on top, use them and make your paragraphs short. As far as article length1500-1800 words is as long as you should go unless you are really bloody funny and/or entertaining.
Also use some kind of spell check, this is especially important if English is not your first language.
What is your take on using Bot to support once post.
Look I totally get using bots. However I wish there was an algorithm to stop them getting onto the trending page. It gives a completely unrealistic view of Steemit to a potential new user if they think, ‘wow! I can write about my kitchen sink and get $400, sign me up!’
What is your take on all this airdrop happening around?
Great, I tend to miss a lot of them, simply because I can’t be bothered. But hey, it’s free money. I did the Byteball one and was very pleased with the simplicity of it all.
What do you think is the future of cryptocurrency?
Hmm. I was a lot more optimistic last year, however I see now that the whole futures thing could potentially ruin the market. If crypto is to survive, then it is the coins related to real world assets and actions (kind of like Steemit) that will survive.
is an ex-hedge fund manager and he has some very interesting things to say about the future of crypto.
If you are privilege to talk to
on one thing, what would it be?
Well I’m going to Steemfest 3 in Krakow in November, so hopefully I’ll get a chance then to shoot the breeze. However if I was restricted to one thing and one thing only, it would be Steemit’s user interface. I think there is a lot of room for improvement, and I’d like to understand what the challenges are.
As a steemian do you think finding a niche rather than posting some random stuff?
Which do I think is better? Well I kind of covered that in my answer on advice to Steemians. If you’re experienced then you may well have already developed a niche. However if you’re new keep it broad.
Though if you look at my stuff, I have a lot of areas which I like to cover, however they are all kind of connected. Anything to do with tech and AI, future tech, and physics I see as one area. Then I’ll write about psychology and philosophy as another. I also like motivational stuff, meditation, self-improvement and fitness. Lastly I like to write fiction, so far just science-fiction, however I have other stuff I might release.
I see all of those areas as being complimentary and so I would say if you are going to post random stuff, try and get it to kind of make sense when it is viewed as a whole.
If there was one thing you could do or suggest to make steem more interesting and attractive to users, what would that be?
I’d have a communities feature and I would fix the tags. This would make it easier for users to find their niche and follow subjects that interested them. Plus it would make it easier for content creators to find an audience.
If there was a worldwide internet and cellular blackout for a week, what would you do for those 7 days?
Good question. I would write, workout and hang with my family. I wouldn’t miss it too much to be honest, I’m trying to spend less time online and I barely use my phone these days.
Let say there was nothing like steemit, what other thing would you be doing?
I would be putting in more time trying to learn to build and develop code.
If you are privilege to talk to someone yet to join steemit, what can you tell the person that will motivate such person to join.
Come and create, innovate, motivate and (maybe) get paid for doing so.
It's a great honor conversing with you
Thanks for coming on the show. Have a wonderful day.
