So 2018 is here and boy what an amazing start to the year we're having!
Throughout fall, and I have talked a lot about all the ideas we have for things to build on STEEM. Just before Christmas, we launched our first attempt with steemgifts.com, a website that let anyone create a new STEEM account as a gift card holding a certain amount of STEEM that they would like to give from their own account. Now, steemgifts is only a small piece of the jigsaw we envision, so expect a lot more to come early this year!
As both of us came back to Paris in the mid-week, we decided to go out for a few drinks and some food to discuss our next moves in 2018 and also to celebrate the growth we've both had over the last half a year.
Myself and back in Paris after the Christmas holiday
The typical French plate of ham and cheese didn't disappoint either!
So one week from now, we'll be having a STEEM Hackathon next weekend to mash together something new. It is the main reason why I am hyped about STEEM, seeing how every time I talk with a developer about it, we get too many ideas to pursue at the same time. It makes me wonder how many others are sitting on great ideas for things to develop on the blockchain.
Before getting onto STEEM, I was a big fan of LEAN StartUp methodology for creating and scaling businesses. I think STEEM can realyl be huge, especially with communities like , I can see STEEM being a catalyst for web-based innovation well beyond the social media sphere. The key is to be faster and faster at coming up with minimum viable products to receive feedback from the users and customers you aim for. STEEM is perfect for allowing people to share ideas and simple prototypes, receive feedback, and at a lower financial risk as you can get paid simply for sharing the idea if stakeholders see how it can bring value to STEEM.
Anyways, I'm quite enthusiastic about seeing what we can put together and look forward to sharing more updates with you all soon!
As always, take care!
