Hello Steemians!
Welcome to another edition of steemit growth ideas to help STEEM price go up. In this post, however, I’m also going to show you how you can bookmark and organize steemit posts that you’d like to save for later.
What? I can bookmark steemit posts on steemit.com?
Well, no you can’t do it directly on steemit.com, at least for now. (Hint to the devs for this feature 😉)
What we’ll be using to bookmark the posts is a web site called StumbleUpon. It’s a pretty old web site that allows you to browse random web sites, hence the name. You can find it at http://www.stumbleupon.com
However, there’s a lot more you can do with this web site than just randomly stumble on other sites. It has a fully featured bookmarking tool for your convenience, so you can find the posts you like later. That combined with the number of people it can potentially make aware about STEEM and steemit is a win-win situation!
How will StumbleUpon help grow STEEM and steemit?
Let’s look at how big this site is:
As you can see in the image above, it gets over 13 million views per month. So, the potential to get STEEM in front of many people is there. The more people see STEEM, the more likely they’ll invest in it when they’re browsing through cryptos later when they’re ready to invest. It’s a simple rule of marketing. The more places people see your brand, the more likely they’re to buy from you when they’re ready to buy.
Here are some examples from steemians that used StumbleUpon to get views on their posts:
How to bookmark and organize your bookmarks with StumbleUpon
You can bookmark your posts in 2 ways. Steemit.com doesn’t currently have a share button for StumbleUpon, so you can’t do it directly from the site. (Hint to the devs to add one 😉) So, you’ll have to go to https://www.stumbleupon.com and log in. Once you’re logged in, click on the blue “Add a Page” button and enter all the details for the page you’re adding there. Once you save it, you can add it to one of your lists there to keep your bookmarks organized.
Another way to do this that could save you some time each time you want to bookmark a page is to install a browser plugin from StumbleUpon that will allow you to share any page you’re on without leaving steemit. You can get this plug in at http://help.stumbleupon.com/customer/en/portal/articles/665206-download-stumblebar
It really saves a lot of time bookmarking a page if you have that plug in, but you can add more information such as tags if you go the site and use the “Add a Page” button. So, it really depends on your preference. The lists you create there can also be public or private, so you can even share them with others if you choose. For example, you can create list of steemit tutorials that you use and then share it with someone that you can get to sign up.
I hope you found this post helpful. I see great potential in this community and technology and have many ideas about how it can grow and improve many lives that I will be sharing in my future posts. Let's leap over any obstacles that stand in our way!
