Today I celebrate steemit and myself. Do you want to why? Read on!
On joining steemit
I was introduced to this network by my facebook friend who is using a pseudo account and I registered on the steem blockchain on the 2nd February 2017. I have tried to know who he is and his username on steemit, but he withheld that from me. However, whoever he is, I bless him with my heart forever.
My early days' experiences
After my first post which I used to introduce myself to the community, I realized I was in the right place. A place where class, skin colour and religion can not victimize you. A lot of people from different parts of the world came to blog welcome me..... That made me feel like a celebrity. Lol!
Just when I was beginning to feel like a champion, I got my very first flag. A whale Upvoted my post and another whale downvoted it. When I saw the flag, I felt like crying. Lol! I later heard it was "whales fight".
Through writing posts, I made a lot of friends here until someone told me to join steemit chat and discord which gave me access to privately chat with some users and make more friends.
In summary, how would I describe my general experience till date?
In a single phrase, I'll say "too good to be true".
My contribution to the Steem Blockchain
Ever since I joined, I have been an ambassador spreading the good news and working for its success. I share my blog on facebook and drop the link for them to register. Most of my friends are registered here through me and they are doing wonderfully well.
I created the Steemit-appreciatesyou project which I used to appreciate people who add value to this network and also reward newbies with Sbd.
I work as a Nigerian curator helping to find good content creators and reward them.
I have also tried to get the Nigerian community fully integrated here by providing an avenue to help them express themselves more in a language we love and cherish so much through the Naija Pidgin challenge #npc.
and I created the genesisproject group which has over 200 members.
My posts are mostly motivational and I believe I have touched a lot of lives through that. However, I do write on other topics occasionally.
My overview of the Steem Blockchain
The steem blockchain is more than just a blogging platform. Though steem is not without its own faults, I see here as the game changer. A place where the hopeless get their hope revived. A place where the true essence of humanity is felt. A place where class, skin colour or religion does not stand as a barrier.
I see Steem as a place where humanity is being redirected back to the true essence of life, which is, to love and to share.
I believe that with the decentralized Blockchain technology, the world will be free from the clutches of those who want to keep it under their control forever. Therefore, with the advancement of the blockchain tech, I foresee a better world.
People who have made (and are still making) this journey a unique one for me
Honestly, all of my life I have never been a part of any community that has shown me so much love and acceptance like what I have experienced here.
When I made my first withdrawal through Remitano and had problems with it, this community rallied around me and made sure I never suffered a loss. transferred steem,
gave me cash and
followed up to track the transaction. I could not believe other people could be so concerned about another person's problem in such a manner... That was remarkable.
A lot of people have been of help to me here in diverse ways.
the great community builder himself has been of great help to me and many others.
also working behind the scenes for the success of this platform has been adding value to my stay here. A big thanks to both of them.
started the African community and has been so helpful.

How can I forget who gave me my very first Steem gift? A big thanks to him. The list is endless. Even if I did not mention your name, please know that I appreciate all your help to me here.
I use this opportunity to appreciate everyone who has contributed to my success story here.
Exactly today one year ago, I joined steemit.
Looking back at the journey thus far, I'll say
"it was worth it".
Thank you Steemit
Thank you and
for creating an opportunity like this for me.
Thank you to all my followers.
Thank you to every user adding value to this network.
I will end with these words from Ned Scott the CEO of Steemit.
Dan and I are similar in that we are motivated by the idea that we can improve the way of life for others.........
Our primary goal is to bring good people to the platform and continue to build a more and more positive online community.
Cryptocurrency gives people freedom to interact wholly and completely with their peers. We want users to experience Steem and how its value is based on their social network and contributions to their community.
Dan first learned of cryptocurrency in 2009; his mantra has long been that it’s a tool for securing our lives, liberties and property. I came across cryptocurrency in 2013; I was reading an article about it in Yahoo! and turned to my dad, whom I love very much and who’s also been on Wall Street all my life, and I asked him what he thinks about it. He said to me, “Son, I try not to pay attention to the fads.” For some reason, it never felt like fad to me and I continue to feel its potential to improve the world for billions of people who live here.
