I can relate to the "learning how to blow off steam" without drugs or alcohol. It does catch up to you if you're not careful. I call it "go to your happy place" to blow off steam. Mine was floating in the pool. Even 10 minutes before a test or an exam I would jump into the pool to float and meditate in the silence of the water. Find your "happy place" before you get to med-school is one of the pieces of advice I give to anyone who expresses interest in med-school.
